Caleb Williams Says 'I Don't Think I Have Pressure' Entering 2nd NFL Season with Bears

Andrew PetersJul 31, 2025

Caleb Williams is entering a pivotal second year in the NFL as he looks to build on a strong rookie year, but the Chicago Bears quarterback said he doesn't feel any kind of pressure to perform a certain way.

"Pressure's not a thing for me," Williams said on ESPN 1000's "Waddle & Silvy" show (h/t ESPN's Courtney Cronin). "I don't think of it that way.

"It's not my job to care what the outside noise is and things like that. My job is take care of everything in here and go out there and play. I know we didn't win as many games as we wanted to last year, but I didn't go 20 [touchdowns] and 20 interceptions and things like that. So, you know, take it for what you want, but no pressure is prevalent; pressure is a privilege, but you know the situation that I'm at. I don't think I have pressure."

Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in 2024, threw for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He added 489 yards on the ground.

But there's still plenty of room to improve for Williams and the Bears. According to Cronin, Williams' goals for 2025 include throwing for 4,000 yards and completing 70 percent of his passes. While lofty, Williams is plenty capable of reaching those heights.

If Williams achieves those goals, it should lead to improvement for the Bears, who went 5-12 last season.
