Wyatt Sicks Retain WWE Tag Team Titles in 6-Pack TLC Match at SummerSlam 2025

Mike ChiariAug 3, 2025

The Wyatt Sicks defeated The Street Profits, DIY, Andrade and Rey Fenix, The Motor City Machine Guns and Fraxiom in a six-pack tables, ladders and chairs match on Night 2 of SummerSlam on Sunday to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Joe Gacy grabbed the belts in the aftermath of a wild and chaotic sequence of events that started with members of three different teams standing atop a ladder, reaching at the championships.

One of the most spectacular moments saw DIY fly off a ladder in the ring to the outside, crashing through a stack of tables that were set up.

That came after Candice LeRae, Gargano's wife, got involved and tried to grab the belts, but Montez Ford kicked Ciampa back into the ladder and she spilled over to the outside onto a ladder that had been set up.

Oh, by the way, there was a Spanish Fly from the top rope to the outside through another table.

After spending months off television, The Wyatt Sicks returned to wreak havoc on the SmackDown tag team division in May, and it quickly led to them earning a title opportunity.

Their first title match against The Street Profits ended in a draw, but Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy got the job done in the rematch on the July 11 episode of SmackDown to win the titles for the first time.

That resulted in the other teams in the SmackDown tag team division trying to come up with a plan to counteract The Wyatt Sicks and prevent them from running roughshod over the brand.

However, the other teams had their own issues with each other, resulting in them going into business for themselves most of the time.

Andrade and Fenix earned a title shot on the July 25 edition of SmackDown, but it ended in a disqualification when Nikki Cross pulled the referee out of the ring. All chaos broke out shortly thereafter with four teams running down and getting involved in a melee.

Amid the mayhem, SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis announced that The Wyatt Sicks would have to put the tag titles on the line at SummerSlam in a six-pack TLC match.

It was a fitting decision for many reasons, including the fact that The Street Profits, DIY and The Motor City Machine Guns put on one of the best TLC matches ever on SmackDown in April.

On top of that, SummerSlam marked the 25th anniversary of the first-ever TLC match between Edge and Christian, the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz at SummerSlam 2000.

All six teams helped carry on the legacy of TLC at SummerSlam, and when the dust settled, The Wyatt Sicks managed to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships.
