Fantasy Football 2025 Most Exciting Sleepers to Target in Mock Drafts
Thursday's Hall of Fame Game between the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans will open the 2025 NFL preseason and fantasy draft season. This makes it an exciting time for football fans and fantasy enthusiasts alike.
For fantasy managers, the next month will be all about draft preparation and the excitement of uncovering fantasy gems during the preseason. Draft boards will inevitably change in the coming weeks, but it's never too early to start identifying potential sleepers and seeing where they land in mock drafts.
We'll examine a few of our early favorites here.
Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals

Managers looking for late-round value can typically find it by targeting running backs who may step into expanded roles. It's starting to feel like Trey Benson is destined to do just that.
To be clear, Jame Conner remains the Arizona Cardinals' starter. However, Benson, a 2024 third-round pick, is showing a lot of growth in his second pro offseason. That could lead to him cutting significantly into Conner's workload.
"I think Trey's gonna take a step, I do," Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said, per Theo Mackie of the Arizona Republic.
An expanded role could lead to big production, as Benson averaged 4.6 yards per carry and 9.8 yards per catch in limited action as a rookie. With an average draft position (ADP) of 143, he can probably be plucked with a late-round flier.
Tre Harris, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Managers often target rookies for sleeper value because they're totally unproven at the pro level. That does lead to a level of risk, but the payoff can be huge when unknown means undervalued.
It seems that Chargers rookie receiver Tre Harris remains undervalued. The Mississippi product enters the preseason with an ADP of just 136.
What's exciting about Harris is his potential to quickly slot in as Justin Herbert's No. 2 target next to Ladd McConkey. 2023 first-round pick Quentin Johnston remains inconsistent, and Harris, the 55th overall pick in April's draft, is already poised for a starting role.
Fans should get an early look at Harris in Thursday's game.
If Harris performs well in the preseason, his draft stock will undoubtedly rise. It'll be worth tracking his progress to determine just how high it can go.
Jordan Mason, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason might not have the floor of Harris, and with an ADP of 109, he's not quite as much of a sleeper. Following his 2024 breakout with the San Francisco 49ers, though, that's not surprising.
Still, Mason should be an exciting player to target because he provides both upside and a ton of handcuff value. Aaron Jones Sr. was Minnesota's high-volume back in 2024, finishing with 1,546 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns. This year, though, it could be a true two-back rotation.
"It's Aaron and Jordan," head coach Kevin O'Connell said, per Rob Kleifield of the team's official website.
Add in the fact that Minnesota may use a very RB-centric offense with the inexperienced J.J. McCarthy behind center, and it's hard not to like Mason's potential.
Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

It may be hard to consider Dak Prescott as a sleeper because of the high profile he's gained with the Dallas Cowboys. After an injury-plagued 2024 campaign, however, Prescott has become a somewhat forgotten fantasy commodity.
With an ADP of 105, Prescott is being valued as a low-level starter at best. Two years ago, though, he threw for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns while finishing as QB3 in fantasy scoring.
Dallas may have a new head coach in Brian Schottenheimer, but Schottenheimer was the offensive coordinator in 2023. Prescott is also set to have three strong targets in CeeDee Lamb, Jake Ferguson and George Pickens.
The Cowboys' offensive line is still a concern, but the offense may feature an improved running game after adding Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams this offseason. As long as he can stay healthy, Prescott should experience a return to Pro Bowl form.
