Joe Flacco's Son Says Browns QB Must 'Win Another Super Bowl' to Not Stink Anymore

Julia StumbaughJul 29, 2025

Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco's children have a high standard as to what it would take for them to stop telling their father he "stinks."

When asked in a recent interview by CBS Sports' Aditi Kinkhabwala if they had ever been impressed by old clips of their father's playing career, Flacco's oldest sons Stephen and Daniel shook their heads.

Kinkhabwala then asked what it would take for the kids to be impressed by their father.

"Win another Super Bowl," Flacco's son Daniel said, per Kinkhabwala.

Flacco last won a championship with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012, when he was named Super Bowl XLVII MVP after passing for 1,140 yards and 11 touchdowns in four playoff games.

He went on to play six more seasons with the Ravens before he was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2019, beginning his career shift into a journeyman backup.

Flacco earned a Comeback Player of the Year award for leading the Browns into the playoffs as a late-season signing in 2023, but was unable to win the starting job with the Indianapolis Colts the next season despite Anthony Richardson's struggles.

Now Flacco is part of a four-man quarterback battle which has Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders vying for playing time in Cleveland.

Pickett is recovering from a hamstring injury that will put Flacco on track to get the "majority" of first-team reps as training camp continues, coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Monday.

Winning the starting job ahead of the Browns' season-opening Sept. 7 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals apparently won't be enough to impress the youngest members of Flacco's family, however. The 40-year-old quarterback may need to play a part in getting the Browns back to championship contention in order to win over his kids.
