Steelers' Aaron Rodgers on Facing Jets in Week 1, 'That's The Way It Goes Sometimes'

Aaron Rodgers will have some familiar faces on the opposite sideline when he makes his Pittsburgh Steelers debut this year.

Rodgers and the Steelers will take his former team, the New York Jets, on the road to begin the 2025 campaign. While it might be a hostile environment, Rodgers isn't making it out to be more than it is.

"That's the way it goes sometimes," he said. "Did they have any inside information? I don't know. Who were they talking to? I don't know. But, start off with the Jets, then play Seattle, where DK (Metcalf) just came from... But I'm excited. Get to play the Jets, play the Packers, play the Bears, play the Vikings. It'll be fun."

Whether the Steelers' Week 1 matchup was intentional is unclear, but it should make for an exciting start to the season. Rodgers will also have the chance to go up against another one of his former teams when he plays the Green Bay Packers in October.

Before Pittsburgh begins its season, it will play a handful of preseason games, starting with an Aug. 9 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
