Cam Ward Reportedly 'Already Won Over' Titans, Is at Facility at 5:30 Every Morning

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward is making all the right moves as he begins his NFL journey.

According to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, Ward arrives at the facility at 5:30 a.m. daily to watch tape and has "already won over" the organization and locker room.

The Titans were in a tailspin last year, going 3-14 with bottom-six finishes in both points scored and points allowed. They ended the season on a six-game losing streak. Quarterback Will Levis was benched late in the campaign for Mason Rudolph, and general manager Ran Carthon was let go after just two seasons.

The team needed help at quarterback, and now there's a new on-field leader in town in Ward, the former University of Miami star and No. 1 overall pick.

Ward has done a great job since the spring, with Callahan noting his continued progression since he entered the building.

"For the quarterback position in general, it's a growth everyday especially for a young player," Callahan said about Ward's improvement Wednesday, per Titans.com's Jim Wyatt. "There's a lot of things that I thought he handled really, really well in the spring. And it's carrying over those things you've learned and applying them in a little bit more intense setting. And now we get a chance to actually go play a little football, play against some different schemes. His development is a daily process and there's going to be things that we got to correct every day and there's going to be things that he's going to do really well every day that we're going to try to continue those things.

"So, every single day I think is going to be an opportunity for development for him, and I'm looking forward to it."

Titans star defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons also praised Ward's poise during an interview with Good Morning Football last month, noting an example from OTA's.

"It was after a play, we stopped him, and I think I ended up getting a sack," Simmons said, per Nick Shook of NFL.com. "All of the sudden, we're talking smack and Cally (head coach Brian Callahan) is giving him the dang play and I'm still talking smack to him, I'm jawing because that's my game -- I want to talk smack, I want to get in your head.

"It didn't faze him. He's still talking smack while Cally's getting the play to him. He's giving the play to the offense, still talking smack to me. When they gave him that play and came to the line, the next play after the smack talk, he threw an 80-yard bomb to Calvin Ridley. So, that right there showed me we got us one. He's legit."

Thus far, the Titans have to be thrilled with Ward's efforts on and off the field, a positive sign as the team looks toward the 2025 season opener on Sept. 7 at the Denver Broncos.
