Jags' Josh Hines-Allen Says Son Is On Way to 'Full Recovery' After Leukemia Diagnosis

Zach BacharJul 25, 2025

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Josh Hines-Allen revealed that his son, Wesley, "is on his way to full recovery" after he was diagnosed with leukemia seven months ago in a post on X.

"We recently received the good news that Wesley is on his way to a full recovery," Hines-Allen said, per Jaguars.com. "We are grateful to the dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and caretakers who contributed to our son's well-being and counseled us through this time. Our goal is to ensure that families going through something similar feel the same level of love and support as we did."

The two-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher was ruled out of the Jaguars' Week 18 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts last season due to personal reasons, with his son receiving an Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia diagnosis at the time.

Hines-Allen's son has undergone chemotherapy treatment and currently remains in the care of Nemours Children's Health in Jacksonville.

The 28-year-old and his wife have launched a season-long campaign through their nonprofit foundation, Four One For All, to give back to four cancer-focused non-profits during each month of the 2025 regular season and help other families battling pediatric cancer.
