Patriots, 49ers, Jets, More Tease NFL Rivalries Uniforms for August 28 Release Date

Multiple NFL teams took to social media on Friday to post teaser videos for the upcoming release of their Rivalries uniforms.

The Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals all made posts on X alluding to the unveiling of the special Rivalries threads on Aug. 28:

The AFC East and NFC West were chosen as the two divisions to debut Rivalries uniforms in 2025, and two more divisions will join in each year through 2028.

Several of the contests designated as Rivalries games for the 2025 were also divulged on Friday.

The Bills announced they will wear their Rivalries uniforms against the Patriots in Week 5, the Cardinals revealed they will don their Rivalries unis in Week 4 against the Seahawks, and the Rams declared they will be decked out in Rivalries uniforms when they host the Seahawks in Week 11.

Each AFC East and NFC West team will wear their Rivalries uniforms one time during the 2025 regular season in a home game against a divisional opponent.

In April, the NFL announced the Rivalries initiative, meant to "elevate NFL rivalry games" and "drive fan engagement."

As part of the official press release, the league noted that the Rivalries uniforms will be "rooted extensively in local community insights," while also "pulling inspiration from the history of each market and the aspects of the community that only that team's city embodies."

About one month out from the official reveal of the Rivalries uniforms, there is little known about what they will look like.

Friday's social media posts provided the biggest clues yet, such as a winter theme for the Bills, a water theme for the Patriots and a desert theme for the Cardinals.

Fittingly, the Aug. 28 release date is exactly one week before the start of the 2025 NFL regular season when the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4.
