Michael Penix Jr. Says Falcons Offense Should Be 'Unstoppable,' NFL's Best Unit

Zach BacharJul 24, 2025

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is confident in the team's offense entering the 2025 season.

"We should be the best in the league," Penix said, per ESPN's Marc Raimondi. "We should be unstoppable. That's our goal. We want to be No. 1 in all categories on the offensive side of the ball."

The No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft is set to enter his first season as a full-time starter in 2025. Penix opened his rookie year behind Kirk Cousins on Atlanta's depth chart, but eventually replaced him under center in Week 16.

He ended his inaugural season with 775 passing yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions to go along with a 58.1 completion percentage.

The Falcons finished with a record of 8-9, owning the No. 13 scoring offense in the NFL while their average of 369.8 total yards per game was the sixth-highest in the league.

Atlanta didn't make any blockbuster additions to its offense in free agency, but will instead rely on the continued growth of rising stars Bijan Robinson and Drake London in addition to Penix.

As the Falcons look to end a seven-year playoff drought in 2025, their signal-caller is focused on cultivating the NFL's best offense.
