Walter Nolen III Will Miss 'Some Time' with Calf Injury, Says Cardinals' Gannon
The Arizona Cardinals will be without their first-round pick for some of training camp and possibly the regular season.
Per ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said defensive tackle Walter Nolen III will miss “some time" after hurting his calf while training. According to Weinfuss, Gannon said he's unsure whether Nolen's injury will keep him out to start the regular season.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Nolen is expected to miss most or all of training camp.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Cardinals picked Nolen 16th overall in this year's NFL draft after a strong collegiate career with Texas A&M and Ole Miss. Last season with the Rebels, he picked up 48 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks on his way to an All-America nod.
While there reportedly were concerns about Nolen's maturity going into the draft, he had all the makings of a first-rounder, and the Cardinals went for him.
The Cardinals have missed the playoffs in three consecutive seasons and haven't won a playoff game in 10 years. While they doubled their win total from 2024 last year, the team is still looking to establish itself as a contender in the NFC.
Adding a talented defensive tackle like Nolen could help with that goal, but he'll first need to overcome his recent calf injury.
