Broncos' Bo Nix Visited with NFL Icon Drew Brees During Offseason, HC Sean Payton Says
Following a successful rookie season, Bo Nix sought out legendary quarterback Drew Brees to help him improve going into 2025.
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton told reporters on Wednesday that Nix spent four or five days this offseason with Brees to gain any insights he could about ways to make himself better.
Nix was a very polarizing pick when the Broncos selected him with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 draft. B/R's NFL scouting department called it a "surprise" because he "simply isn't a first-round-caliber prospect."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Working in Payton's offense helped Nix exceed all projections for him as a rookie. The 25-year-old threw for 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns and completed 66.3 percent of his attempts in 17 starts.
The only rookie in NFL history with more passing touchdowns than Nix was Justin Herbert in 2020 (31).
Nix led the Broncos to the playoffs for the first time since their victory over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
While it will be hard for any quarterback to replicate what Brees did because he's one of the best players at the position in NFL history, Nix's meeting with him could produce positive results right away.
No one knows Payton's offense and the intricate details of it better than Brees. They worked together for 14 seasons with the New Orleans Saints, including a Super Bowl victory in 2009.
The defense that allowed the third-fewest points in the NFL added Dre Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga in free agency, as well as Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron to play next to 2024 Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II.
Denver's offense could be more explosive thanks to the addition of RJ Harvey at running back and Pat Bryant at wide receiver in the draft.
Nix and the Broncos have the potential to be among the best teams in the AFC in 2025 after going 10-7 last season. They were one of five teams to finish in the top 10 in points scored and points allowed in 2024.
