Eagles' Jalen Hurts Explains Why He Didn't Wear Super Bowl Ring in Viral Photos
Jalen Hurts isn't here to dwell on the past, even if the past is positive.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback told reporters Wednesday the reason he didn't wear his Super Bowl ring during the team's ceremony is because he's "moved on to the new year."
Many fans noticed he wasn't wearing his ring, and now his explanation provides context as to why.
And those same Eagles fans will surely love to hear their quarterback has already turned the page. After all, there is a new season about to begin against the archrival Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4, and Hurts' ability to continue playing at a high level will go a long way toward determining whether his team can repeat as champions.
If that level of focus leads to an improved version of Hurts, the rest of the NFC will be in trouble.
He made back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2022 and 2023 but saw that streak end as he threw for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions during the 2024 season. He ran for 630 yards and 14 scores, but there were some questions about the aerial attack heading into the playoffs.
Hurts provided a resounding answer, though, while throwing for five touchdowns and running for five touchdowns during the team's postseason run. He led the Eagles to a dominant 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs with the Lombardi Trophy hanging in the balance and took home the Super Bowl LIX MVP in the process.
All he did in that game was throw for 221 yards, run for 72 more and account for three touchdowns.
No matter what happens during the 2025 season, Hurts will be an Eagles legend for what he just did.
But he is clearly focused on building on that legendary status moving forward in his career.
