Adam Sandler Talks Travis Kelce's 'Happy Gilmore 2' Performance Ahead of Release Date
Hollywood megastar Adam Sandler appeared on the New Heights podcast on Wednesday to discuss several aspects of the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 movie, including the role Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce played in the film.
Speaking to Travis and his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce (beginning at the 7-minute mark of the podcast), Sandler was highly complimentary of Travis' performance in the movie and gave some insight into his character.
"You guys just go, 'All right, if I'm doing this, I might as well be great at this,'" Sandler said of the Kelce brothers. ... "Travis was locked in, he had to kind of be a bad guy."

Sandler went on to explain that Kelce shared the screen with global music sensation Bad Bunny, who plays the role of Sandler's caddie in the movie.
"You two guys were amazing together," Sandler said. "He was so sweet and you had to be a little bit of a louse to him. You didn't like doing it because you love the guy. You had to be mean to Benito, but we got it done and you look cool."
Travis, 35, is widely regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history with 10 Pro Bowl nods, four First Team All-Pro selections and three Super Bowl wins to his credit.
For his career, Kelce has made 1,004 catches for 12,151 yards and 77 touchdowns, ranking him first in Chiefs history in all three categories.
On top of that, he has dominated in the playoffs with 178 receptions for 2,078 yards and 20 touchdowns in 25 career postseason games.
Kelce is also known for his big personality, which could conceivably translate well to the world of film and television, but his experience is relatively limited.
Happy Gilmore 2 represents Kelce's first role in a major movie, and it is only the second time he has played a character other than himself with the first being a role in the FX horror series Grotesquerie.
Sandler seems thrilled with the work Kelce did in Happy Gilmore 2, and viewers will get the chance to judge for themselves Friday when the movie officially drops on Netflix.
