Ankalaev-Pereira Rematch Headlines UFC 320, Tom Aspinall vs. Gane Title Fight at 321

Paul KasabianJul 22, 2025

The UFC announced a few massive bouts that will go down shortly, including a rematch for the light heavyweight title between champion Magomed Ankalaev versus challenger Alex Pereira at UFC 320 and Tom Aspinall's first-ever heavyweight title defense against Ciryl Gane at UFC 321.

Ankalaev beat Pereira for his light heavyweight title via unanimous decision last March at UFC 313. Pereira had previously won three successful title defenses.

Aspinall was previously the interim heavyweight champion and made one successful title defense against Curtis Blaydes last July. However, he became UFC's heavyweight champion after belt-holder Jon Jones retired last month.

Ankalaev beat Pereira for his light heavyweight title via unanimous decision last March at UFC 313. Pereira had previously won three successful title defenses.

The 33-year-old Ankalaev has a professional record of 20 wins, one loss, one draw and one no-contest. He's gone 14 straight matches without a loss and currently ranks seventh on UFC's men's pound-for-pound rankings.

Pereira, 38, is 12-3 lifetime. He was once the UFC's middleweight champion, defeating Israel Adesanya via fifth-round TKO in Nov. 2022. Pereira lost to Adesanya in a rematch five months later, but he made his light heavyweight debut in July 2023 and burst onto the scene with a win over ex-light heavyweight champion Jan Błachowicz. Pereira won five straight overall, including two wins over ex-champ Jiří Procházka.

Aspinall was previously the interim heavyweight champion and made one successful title defense against Curtis Blaydes last July. However, he became UFC's heavyweight champion after belt-holder Jon Jones retired last month.

The 32-year-old Aspinall is 15-3 overall with 12 knockouts. He's been on a roll in UFC, going 8-1 overall. His lone loss was to Blaydes in July 2022, although that was due to a serious knee injury that rendered him unable to compete after 15 seconds. He returned one year later and has since gone 3-0 with a first-round TKO over Marcin Tybura and a pair of first-round knockouts over Sergei Pavlovich and Blaydes.

The 35-year-old Gane is 13-2 lifetime with six knockouts and three submission wins. He started his career 10-0 before losing to Francis Ngannou via unanimous decision for the UFC heavyweight title. His only other loss was to Jones by first-round submission for the vacant heavyweight title in March 2023. Gane has since won two in a row via second-round TKO (Serghei Spivac) and split decision (Alexander Volkov).

UFC 320 will take place on Saturday, October 4 at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. UFC 321 will occur on Saturday, October 25 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
