Adam Sandler Confirms Future Derrick Henry Movie Role at 'Happy Gilmore 2' Premiere

Adam Sandler seemed to confirm Monday at the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere in New York City that he has something in the works with Baltimore Ravens superstar running back Derrick Henry.

While sharing a hug with Henry on the red carpet, Sandler said, "We're doing a movie together. Me and you, bro."

Last month, Henry appeared on the Dan Patrick Show, and he named Sandler as his favorite actor, per Justin Robertson of the Ravens' official website.

Patrick, who has appeared in multiple movies with Sandler, told Henry he would get him a role in a Sandler movie should he rush for 2,000 yards with the Ravens during the 2025 season.

Shortly thereafter, Sandler sent Henry a video message in which he promised him a role in one of his films should he hit the 2,000-yard mark:

Based on what Sandler said to Henry on Monday, the future Hall of Fame running back may already have a role locked in regardless of how well he performs on the field in 2025.

A 2,000-yard season is not far-fetched, though, as he nearly reached that number in 2024, which was his first season with the Ravens.

Henry finished last season with 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground, earning him Pro Bowl and Second Team All-Pro honors. He was also fourth in NFL Offensive Player of the Year voting.

King Henry previously hit the 2K milestone in 2020 with the Tennessee Titans when he rushed for 2,027 yards and 17 scores en route to OPOY honors.

Only nine players have rushed for at least 2,000 yards in a season over the course of NFL history, and no player has done it more than once.

If Henry can become the first multi-time, 2,000-yard rusher, he will also erase all doubt regarding whether he will appear in a movie with Sandler.

Henry's road to 2K will begin Sept. 7 when the Ravens open the regular season on the road with a Sunday Night Football clash against the Buffalo Bills.
