Jelly Roll had his own moment, though, when he clotheslined the social media star twice before chokeslamming him in the middle of the ring.

However, McIntyre and Paul were victorious, with the latter landing another splash on Jelly Roll for the win.

The groundwork was laid for SummerSlam a few weeks ago on SmackDown when Jelly Roll sang in his home state of Tennessee, only to have his performance interrupted by Paul.

Paul accused Jelly Roll of being a celebrity outside who wanted to capitalize on the wrestling business, which prompted Orton to make his way to the ring and call out the YouTuber for being a hypocrite.

Amid the commotion, McIntyre arrived on the scene and took Orton out with a Claymore as payback for The Viper hitting him with an RKO the week before.

Orton asked Jelly Roll to be in his corner the next night at Saturday Night's Main Event for his match against McIntyre, but the Scot had backup as well in the form of Paul.

At one point during the match, Jelly Roll pushed Paul down when they came face-to-face. Distracted by the chaos going on outside the ring, McIntyre was taken out by an RKO out of nowhere, allowing Orton to win the match.

The rivalry carried over to late-night television when Jelly Roll served as a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and had Orton on the show as a guest.

McIntyre showed up in the middle of their interview and talked some trash, causing Orton and the Scot to start throwing hands, brawling their way into the backstage area.

Paul then made his presence felt by berating Jelly Roll and slapping him across the face. Angered by the slap, the singer fired up, grabbed his rival by the neck and emphatically chokeslammed him through a table.

McIntyre and Paul were out for revenge at SummerSlam as a result, and they secured it by winning and spoiling Jelly Roll's debut match in the process.
