Nick Emmanwori Agrees to Fully Guaranteed Seahawks Rookie Contract as 2nd-Round Pick

The Seattle Seahawks signed safety Nick Emmanwori to a rookie contract on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Per Schefter, the 2025 second-round pick agreed to a fully guaranteed deal with Seattle.

Emmanwori was one of 30 second-round rookies that had yet to sign with their respective teams entering Thursday due to disagreements surrounding the guaranteed money in their contracts.

Fully guaranteed rookie-scale contracts have traditionally been given to first-round picks, but that changed after the 2025 NFL draft.

In May, the Houston Texans signed second-round rookie Jayden Higgins to a guaranteed four-year contract worth $11.7 million. One day later, the Cleveland Browns handed second-round linebacker Carson Schwesinger a fully guaranteed deal.

The moves led to the remaining players selected in the second round of the 2025 draft to delay signing with their teams.

With Emmanwori's reported deal, each player drafted with the top three picks in the second round has now signed a fully guaranteed contract.

The 21-year-old wrapped up an impressive junior season at South Carolina in 2024, racking up 88 tackles, four interceptions and three tackles for loss.

Emmanwori is expected to immediately contribute as part of a Seahawks secondary that ranked No. 11 in the NFL last season by allowing 211.9 yards per game through the air.

While there was some uncertainty surrounding his contract status heading into the season, he's now set to begin training camp.
