Jon Heyman's Latest MLB Trade Rumors on Yankees, Byron Buxton, Marcell Ozuna, More
The July 31 MLB trade deadline is quickly approaching, and there's a ton of buzz surrounding multiple teams and players.
On Bleacher Report's live stream, MLB insider Jon Heyman revealed a few tidbits about some of the moves can go down before the deadline.
In response to a fan question, Heyman said he feels the New York Yankees have "a good shot" at acquiring Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez. He pointed out that the Yankees "have the obvious need," and "they're the team that needs him the most."

1 Fun Fact About Every MLB Team Thus Far 😀
New York has an opening at third base after moving Jazz Chisholm Jr. back to second base and releasing veteran DJ LeMahieu, so adding Suarez would fill the team's biggest hole.
In addition to targeting Suarez, Heyman noted that the Yankees need to make pitching improvements in the wake of Clarke Schmidt's season-ending Tommy John surgery. Heyman said, "I think they need to get a starter now," and further added, "the Yankees need 'pen," referring to bullpen improvements.
New York could look to an AL East rival for relief help, as Heyman reported that the Baltimore Orioles are "obviously a very likely seller" and "have five or six good relievers that they can trade."
As for some of the bigger names being floated in rumors, Heyman had contrasting predictions about a pair of veterans.
Regarding Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton, Heyman reported that there's "no chance" that he gets moved before the trade deadline. Buxton declared to Heyman, "I'm a Twin for life," so it doesn't appear likely that he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause anytime soon.
However, Heyman predicted that Atlanta Braves designated hitter Marcell Ozuna "is gonna get traded." He noted that the Braves "are gonna have to sell the pieces that are, at this point, on expiring contracts," and also pointed out that Ozuna is unlikely to receive a qualifying offer from Atlanta.
It sounds like there could be a significant amount of movement at this year's deadline from teams looking to make a playoff push or sell off assets to build for next year.
