Bucs Unveil White Creamsicle Throwback Uniforms for 2025 NFL Season in New Photos

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed off their new throwback alternate uniforms Tuesday ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

In a post on X, several Bucs stars including quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Mike Evans sported the unis, which feature white helmets, jerseys and pants, along with creamsicle orange and red accents:

On their official website, the Bucs announced that the exact combination has not been worn by the team since their inaugural season in 1976.

The throwback uniforms represent a celebration of 50 years of Buccaneers football, and they will only be worn during the 2025 season before being retired.

The first appearance of the 50th anniversary uniforms will be during Week 3 on Sept. 21 when the Bucs host the New York Jets in their home opener.

Several details set the 1976 all-white uniforms apart from some of the other ensembles the Buccaneers have worn over the years.

In addition to the white jerseys and pants, the uniforms feature orange numbers with red outlines, and red and orange stripes on both the sleeves and socks.

New to the uniforms are a 50th anniversary patch and the words, "Hey! Hey! Tampa Bay!" stitched inside the collar as a nod to the Bucs' original fight song.

The Buccaneers switched from the orange-dominant color scheme to red and pewter in 1997, but the throwback uniforms highlighted by creamsicle orange jerseys were brought back in 2009, and they have been worn periodically since then.

While the original uniforms are remembered fondly and celebrated by football fans, the Bucs did not enjoy much success during their first 21 years of existence.

From 1976 to 1996, the Buccaneers reached the playoffs only three times, and they won just a single postseason game.

The Bucs went to the playoffs in their first year in red and pewter, though, and they have since won a pair of Super Bowl titles in 2002 and 2020.

Currently, the Buccaneers are in the midst of one of the best runs in franchise history, having made five straight playoff appearances and won four consecutive NFC South titles.

Entering the 2025 campaign, the Bucs look like the team to beat in the NFC South once again, and it starts with their Week 1 road game against the rival Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 7.
