Aaron Rodgers, Stroud, Dak Fall Out of Top 10 QB Rankings by NFL Execs, Coaches
Three quarterbacks dropped from the top 10 altogether in the annual rankings from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
The Houston Texans' C.J. Stroud had the steepest fall after sitting seventh in 2024. The Pittsburgh Steelers' Aaron Rodgers (eighth) and Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott (10th) also saw their stock suffer in the eyes of NFL coaches, executives and scouts.

Injuries played the biggest role in Prescott no longer occupying a top-10 spot. He was limited to eight starts before suffering a partial tear or his hamstring.
The 31-year-old's production was trending in the wrong direction, though, so his fate may have been the same if he had stayed healthy. His 45.3 QBR was a career low, per Pro Football Reference.
Rodgers, meanwhile, showed his age (41) and seemingly struggled with the effects of his 2023 Achilles tear.
The four-time MVP threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He had his lowest passer rating as a full-time starter (90.5) and ranked 25th in QBR (48.0). His days as a top-10 QB are probably over for good.
Stroud has something to prove after regressing badly from his impressive rookie season.
The Texans star averaged just 219.2 passing yards per game after leading the NFL in that category (273.9) in 2024. He also had fewer touchdowns (20) and more interceptions (12) compared to his first year.
The ouster of offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, only a year removed from him getting head-coaching buzz, pointed to a disconnect between the quarterback and his play-caller.
"That can affect your confidence when the protection and the playcalling around you isn't great," one QB coach told Fowler. "It can all tie together. But the framework of what made him great his rookie year is still there … Such a natural thrower of the football with elite ball placement."
With Nick Caley installed as the offensive coordinator, Stroud is one of the more obvious bounce-back candidates for 2025.
