Stephanie Vaquer Earns World Title Match at WWE Clash in Paris with Evolution Win

Stephanie Vaquer won the 20-woman Battle Royal match at Evolution on Sunday to earn a shot at the Women's World Championship at the Clash in Paris premium live event on Aug. 31.

The final four consisted of Vaquer, Nia Jax, Nikki Bella and Lash Legend. After Bella was eliminated, Vaquer and Legend teamed up to eliminate Jax before turning their sights on one another. Vaquer used her patented Devil's Kiss signature move on the ring apron to eliminate Legend.

Vaquer has been on an upward trajectory since her debut in WWE less than a year ago. After becoming the NXT Women's North American Champion, she became the first female Superstar to unify that title with the NXT Women's Championship. She once defended both titles in the same night.

Vaquer made her first main-roster appearance on the Raw after WrestleMania 41, and she became a permanent member of the Raw roster in May. She was in a featured match in the Worlds Collide crossover event between WWE and its Mexican sister promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. That same night, she competed in the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Despite previously coming up short in her pursuit of a title shot, Vaquer managed to outlast a star-studded lineup of 19 other women in Sunday's Battle Royal. The match featured mainstays like Zelina Vega, Chelsea Green, Natalya and Michin, as well as rising NXT Superstars like Jaida Parker, Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan.

Vaquer will face the winner of Sunday night's main event between Women's World Champion Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley when she challenges for the title next month.
