Amanda Serrano Thanks Katie Taylor, Jake Paul After Loss in Historic Netflix Fight
Amanda Serrano was graceful following a historic night at Madison Square Garden in which she came up short in her trilogy fight with Katie Taylor for the undisputed super lightweight championship.
In a post on X after the event, Serrano thanked Taylor, Jake Paul (co-founder of her promotions company, Most Valuable Promotions) and the fans who supported her.
Serrano also posted a message directly to Taylor, who praised her opponent in the ring after the bout, about being "blessed" to share the ring with "the Greatest" of all-time.
Taylor defeated Serrano by majority decision with scores of 97-93, 97-93 and 95-95 to retain the undisputed title that she has held since 2023. She has won all three head-to-head bouts against the Real Deal, but they have been extremely close on the scorecards each time.
The Taylor-Serrano bout was the main event on the show that featured an all-women's card. Their first meeting in April 2022 became the first women's match to headline a boxing event at Madison Square Garden.
Serrano is 46-4-1 with three of her four losses coming against Taylor. The Bray Bomber has won 25 of her 26 career fights and has successfully defended the undisputed super lightweight championship twice since winning it from Chantelle Cameron in November 2023.
