Saints Tease New Helmets for 2025 NFL Uniforms in Photo Ahead of Wednesday Reveal
The New Orleans Saints posted a teaser photo Tuesday, foreshadowing the potential unveiling of new helmets.
In a post on X, the Saints showed off a helmet obscured by shadows, and the photo included the caption, "July 9, 2025."
No further information was provided, but the date suggests a full reveal is scheduled for Wednesday.
Since the team's inception in 1967, the Saints have essentially had the same helmet with a gold shell emblazoned by a black fleur-de-lis.
The shade of gold has changed at times, as has the facemask color, but the Saints are one of the few teams that have kept nearly the same design throughout their history.
In 2022, the Saints introduced an alternate black helmet with a gold fleur-de-lis that has been worn occasionally ever since, marking the first major departure from the traditional gold helmets.
Last week, Andrew Lind of SportsLogos.net reported that the Saints were scheduled to unveil a new alternate helmet and uniform on July 22.
It is unclear if there will be a full uniform reveal along with the helmets on Wednesday, but it appears fans will be treated to a glimpse at the new headwear earlier than expected at the very least.
While it is difficult to tell much from the teaser photo, the shading suggests the new helmet could potentially be white with a solid black stripe, which would be a huge departure from any helmet the Saints have ever had.
Regardless of what they wear, the Saints could be in store for a challenging season in 2025, as rookie Tyler Shough, second-year man Spencer Rattler and third-year man Jake Haener are set to compete for the starting quarterback job following the retirement of Derek Carr.
