Dak Prescott Expects to Be Ready for Cowboys Training Camp After Hamstring Injury

Julia StumbaughJul 8, 2025

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott says he will be fully ready for training camp after recovering from the season-ending hamstring surgery he underwent in November.

"I'll be a full-go for camp. I'm healthy," Prescott told reporters on Tuesday.

Cowboys players are set to arrive in Oxnard, California for training camp on July 20.

Prescott addressed reporters on Tuesday from his annual ProCamp in Southlake, per Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News.

The quarterback's November surgery addressed a partial avulsion of his hamstring tendon, which involved the tendon being "partially torn off the bone," NFL Network's Jane Slater reported in November.

The quarterback said in April that he could "definitely" play a game if he needed to, but was focused on recovering enough to remain healthy for a full season.

Video published at the end of March then showed Prescott resuming throwing activities.

Prescott went on to begin Cowboys OTAs in May as a full non-contact participant, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Nick Harris.

“Pretty much can do it all,” Prescott told Harris at the time, adding that he was "just not cleared for contact."

Prescott said on Tuesday that he was just waiting on the "official sign-off" from a doctor in order to be fully cleared ahead of camp.

Training camp will be the first opportunity the Cowboys' new-look coaching staff, led by head coach Brian Schottenheimer and offensive coordinator Klayton Adams, gets to work with Prescott in a full capacity.

Prescott will also get the chance to continue working on building a connection with newly-acquired wide receiver George Pickens when training camp kicks off later this month.

Getting Prescott comfortable throwing to Pickens and CeeDee Lamb will be key to helping Schottenheimer and passing game specialist Ken Dorsey build the Cowboys' offense next fall.
