Williams was one of the lone bright spots in another disappointing season for the Jets, who finished with a 5-12 record and missed the playoffs for the 14th straight year, the league's longest active postseason drought.
Despite battling a hamstring injury throughout the year, Williams started 16 games and recorded 37 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and six sacks. He was named to his third straight Pro Bowl.
The 2025 season could see Williams return to his usual level of dominance, as he will have the chance to be unleashed under new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn. A healthy year for the 2022 first-team All-Pro selection could be enough to get the Jets back to a respectable level of competitiveness as they try to end their lengthy run of misfortune.
After signing a two-year deal with the Vikings last offseason following five seasons with the Miami Dolphins, Van Ginkel thrived in his first year in Minnesota.
The 30-year-old started all 17 games for the first time in his career and recorded career highs across the board with 79 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks and two interceptions, both of which were returned for touchdowns. He added six pass deflections and a forced fumble on his way to earning his first Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro honors.
Van Ginkel's emergence helped the Vikings finish as one of the best defensive units in the league. Minnesota ranked second in the NFL with just 93.4 rushing yards allowed per game and fifth with 19.5 points allowed per game. The team went 14-3 before falling to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Wild Card Round.
Following the season, the Vikings rewarded Van Ginkel with a one-year, $23 million contract extension. He will look to make a similar impact in 2025 as Minnesota chases elusive postseason success.
