Fever HC Gives Caitlin Clark Injury Update After Superstar Returns to 5-on-5 Practice

Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White offered a promising update on Caitlin Clark after the star guard participated in live 5-on-5 practice on Monday.

When asked if she believed Clark could return to action for Wednesdayโ€™s matchup against the Golden State Valkyries, White expressed optimism, noting that the signs were encouraging as Clark progresses through her return-to-play plan.

"I hope so," White told reporters. "The same return-to-play structure weโ€™ve been following. She was able to do a little bit more today, and now weโ€™ll see tomorrowโ€”has there been progress or any regression? How does she feel, how does she look, what does recovery look like? This was really the first time weโ€™ve gotten her out into live action, so weโ€™ll see what it brings tomorrow."

Clark has missed the last five games with a left groin injury and has sat out 10 of the Feverโ€™s 18 total games this season due to various injuriesโ€”marking the first time in her collegiate or professional career that sheโ€™s dealt with extended time off the court.

In her sophomore season, Clark has averaged 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 0.6 steals over nine games.
