Angel Reese Had to 'Really, Really Work' to Be Selected to 2025 WNBA All-Star Roster
Angel Reese is officially a two-time All-Star.
The Chicago Sky star was named to the 2025 WNBA All-Star Team reserves on Sunday. She said this year's selection means a lot after overcoming a difficult start to the year.
"I feel like I had to really, really work," Reese told reporters on Sunday. "Cause at the beginning of the season I had my mini sophomore slump and I wasn't the player that I felt like I should've been... I think every All-Star experience is going to be different for me, some may be easier, some may be harder... This year I had to really get it out the mud. I'm really happy, super grateful and excited."

Reese had a few shaky performances to start the year, but has since turned things around and is averaging 12.4 points and 12.6 boards in 16 games. She also recorded her first career triple-double last month when she logged 11 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists against the Connecticut Sun.
Reese said that she has known about her All-Star nod for a few days, but got to celebrate it with her team for the first time on Sunday.
"Individual awards don't happen without the team," Reese said. "I just am so grateful to have them. They push me through everything, even when I was having my down days, even when I have my up days, they're always in my corner. That's the part of this team that you love."
Reese has had a fantastic start to her WNBA career with two All-Star appearances and All-Rookie Team honors. She also led the league in rebounding a year ago and is well on her way to doing so again this year.
But while Reese has maintained individual success, the team as a whole has work to do. The Sky are 5-11 on the year, sitting in 12th place in the WNBA standings, just ahead of the 2-16 Connecticut Sun.
With the All-Star break coming up, Reese and Chicago will have the chance to reset and try to make a playoff push in the second half of the season.
