FIFA Club World Cup Bracket 2025 Odds and Predictions Before Semi-Final Fixtures

The semifinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup have a UEFA Champions League feel to them.

Fifteen-time UCL winner Real Madrid and newly-crowned UCL champion Paris Saint-Germain face off in the marquee match of the two semifinals.

Chelsea, a regular in European competition, goes up against the only non-European side left in the competition, Fluminense, in the other semifinal.

Both semifinals will take place at MetLife Stadium. The winners will stay in the New York area for the July 13 final at the same venue.

Predictions

Most of the semifinal attention will be directed toward the star-studded battle between Real Madrid and PSG.

PSG might be considered a slight favorite over Los Blancos because of how strong it has been on the defensive end.

The Parisians produced four clean sheets in four victories at the Club World Cup, including a 2-0 quarterfinal triumph over Bayern Munich.

The reigning UEFA Champions League winner also beat Atletico Madrid in the group stage.

However, Real Madrid will have the advantage in attack if Kylian Mbappe starts. Mbappe missed most of the tournament with an illness, but he came off the bench and scored in Saturday's quarterfinal win over Borussia Dortmund.

The Mbappe-Vinicius Junior combination is tough for any opponent to handle. You could argue a similar case in favor of PSG's attacking unit, led by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Real Madrid won't have newly-signed center back Dean Huijsen, who was sent off in second-half stoppage time against Dortmund. That could be the one weakness that PSG is able to exploit better than its Spanish counterparts.

A high-scoring game could be in the cards, even with PSG's strong defensive form, because Madrid will likely be at full strength, but with Huijsen missing out, PSG holds the advantage.

Fluminense's defensive record is similar to that of PSG's. The Brazilian side owns three clean sheets in the competition, two of which came against Dortmund and Inter Milan.

The lone non-European semifinalist will frustrate Chelsea's dynamic group of young attackers.

Chelsea is 1-1 against Brazilian sides so far in the tournament. The Blues lost to Flamengo in the group stage and held off Palmeiras in the quarterfinals.

Enzo Maresca's side hasn't held a clean sheet against a European or South American side in the competition.

Tuesday's clash has the potential to be as close as Wednesday's star-studded bout.
