Hanna Hildago, USA Advance to the Finals

The United States cashed its ticket to the finals of this year’s AmeriCup tournament with a 65-53 victory over their most difficult competition to date, Canada.

Notre Dame’s Hanna Hidalgo led the way in scoring with 19 points while shooting 53.3 percent from the paint. Madison Booker added 12 points and Mikayla Blakes rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11.

The game was a back-and-forth encounter until the fourth quarter, when the Americans pulled away, thanks to a Canadian squad that spread the scoring around, with Kayla Alexander leading the way with 10 points.

The Americans have been the most dominant squad in this tournament and will undoubtedly be favored to win the whole thing Sunday, when they take the court against Brazil.

Brazil Dominates Argentina

Brazil steamrolled Argentina, winning by 40.

Bella Nascimento shined, scoring 22 in 20 minutes with a rebound and three assists. Kamilla Cardoso tallied eight points, 11 rebounds, and four assists against an Argentinian team that was outmatched from the opening whistle.
