This was just painful.
When Sacramento Kings coach George Karl greeted his star player, DeMarcus Cousins, at an NBA Summer League game Monday, things started off in normal fashion. Cousins cocked his hand back for a friendly high-five/handshake, and Karl gladly accepted the offer.
From there, things got...uncomfortable. At first, it appeared that the two would engage in the type of handshake Monta Ellis casually performed after sinking a backward hallway shot during his time with the Golden State Warriors:
This was not the case.
Instead, Karl held on and awkwardly seemed to help Cousins stand up, eventually causing the 2015 All-Star to look him in the eye.
