Andrew PetersJul 2, 2025

After a scary fall during the halftime show of the WNBA Commissioner's Cup title game between the Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx left Red Panda hospitalized, the iconic performer's team released a statement on Wednesday.

Red Panda's team told ESPN's Pat McAfee that she suffered a wrist injury and was in the hospital for 11 hours but is now on her way home.

“Thank you very much to all NBA, WNBA, Universities, media individuals and her ever supporting fans for your kindness and concern.  Last night at Lynx/Fever she took a fall at the very beginning of the show, due to left paddle of her unicycle was damaged during transit, her left wrist was severely fractured at the same spot for the 2nd time.  She was at the hospital for 11 hours last night. Hilton and Greta, from Minnesota Lynx, stayed with her at the hospital the entire night for her procedure.   She is very grateful.  She is on her way home now and the Doctors in Minneapolis have recommended that as soon as she gets home, she meet with an orthopedic surgeon for the 2nd part of repair."

Red Panda, who has risen to fame for her performances at halftimes of NBA, WNBA and college basketball games, rides a 7-foot-tall unicycle and balances dishes on her head and feet.

The unfortunate incident on Tuesday saw her lose balance and fall to the floor, where she clutched her wrist before being helped off the court.

After Red Panda's fall, the Fever went on to win the game and claim their first Commissioner's Cup. Several members of the team, including star Caitlin Clark, showed love for Red Panda following the win.

"Red Panda, if you're watching, we love you," Clark said during an Instagram live.

As Red Panda's team mentioned, it's the second time she's broken her wrist. She suffered her first wrist injury while practicing in 2013, according to Deadline's Tom Tapp.

While it's clear that her fractured wrist is severe, it's unclear how long she'll be off her unicycle.

Red Panda has been a mainstay of halftime shows since she made her NBA debut as a replacement for the Los Angeles Clippers in 1993, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer. Fischer noted that, after her initial performance, she went on to perform at more than 40 NBA games during the 1994-95 season.
