Zack Greinke Seems Super Excited to Be Named NL Starter at MLB All-Star Game

Dan CarsonJul 13, 2015

At a press conference in Cincinnati on Monday afternoon, Zack Greinke was named the National League's starting pitcher for Tuesday's MLB All-Star Game at the Reds' Great American Ball Park, per MLB on Twitter.

By all appearances, it took a herculean effort on Greinke's part to resist sabering a champagne bottle in celebration of the news.

The Kansas City Star's Andy McCullough tweeted out this gem from Greinke in response to a prompt from Fox Sports' Matt Vasgersian:

Greinke also explained the euphoria he feels over receiving starting honors, per ESPN.com's Jayson Stark:

When someone's energy is this contagious, you can't help but be moved:

When asked how his day at school went, Greinke reportedly replied "Good" and went into his bedroom, closing the door behind him.
