
Joyce Edwards, USA Applauded By Fans After Win vs. Colombia at FIBA Women's AmeriCup
The USA Women grabbed a dominant 80–43 win over Colombia in their second game of the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup, improving to a perfect 2–0 start.
They currently lead Group B with four points, having played one more game than second-place team Mexico.
South Carolina’s Joyce Edwards finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and one steal. Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes led the way with 15 points and two steals, and Oklahoma’s Raegan Beers grabbed 10 boards. Notre Dame's Olivia Miles put together a well-rounded game with 11 points, eight rebounds and eight assists while shooting 57.1 percent from the field.
The U.S. women opened the tournament with a commanding 108–47 blowout over Chile on Saturday. Meanwhile, Canada is dominating Group A winning their first two games by a combined 89 points.
Team USA fans took to social media to celebrate the commanding back-to-back wins as the squad continues its push toward bracket play in the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup.
Edwards and Blakes led Team USA at halftime with 11 points apiece. Edwards also contributed four rebounds and one assist, while Blakes added a block. Gianna Kneepkens chipped in seven points on 60 percent shooting as Team USA took a commanding 48–19 lead into the break.
Out of halftime, Team USA poured in 32 more points. Starter Olivia Miles added eight in the second half to finish with 11, Blakes tacked on four more, Audi Crooks added six off the bench and Beers padded her stat line with nine rebounds in the second half.
Team USA will face Puerto Rico on Monday, with tip-off set for 8:10 p.m. ET.
