Angel Reese Posts Double-Double in Sky Win as Sparks Retire Candace Parker's Jersey
The Chicago Sky got a much-needed win on Sunday after dropping seven of their last nine games.
The Sky, led by an outstanding performance from Angel Reese, beat the Los Angeles Sparks 92-85 on the road, spoiling Candace Parker's jersey retirement.
Reese led the way for the Sky with 24 points, 16 rebounds and two blocks, shooting 10-of-19 from the field. After notching her first career triple-double earlier this month, she continued to show off her passing skills with seven assists.

Reese also reached a career milestone on Sunday, breaking into the Sky's all-time top 10 for rebounds in just her second season in the WNBA.
Ariel Atkins added 20 for Chicago, and three other players, Elizabeth Williams, Rachel Banham and Kia Nurse, were also in double figures.
Dearica Hamby gave her best effort for the Sparks in the loss with 20 points, but it wasn't enough in a game where the team shot 41.7 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from deep.
While the Sparks couldn't come away with the win, it was still a night of celebration as the team hoisted Parker's jersey into the rafters.
Parker, drafted by Los Angeles in 2008, played for the Sparks until 2020. She led the team to a title in 2016, won a pair of MVPs and achieved countless other accolades during her time with the team. She left for her hometown Sky in 2021 before joining the Las Vegas Aces for her final season in 2023.
