Fantasy Football...Oh My! ANd Vick, Oh No!

So, I took the old guy...put him as my back up in not one but two fantasy leagues.  I guess that is the social worker in me.  It is also the social worker in me that makes me angry at Michael Vick and his handlers.  I will miss AJ Feeley and the Eagles front office lied just a few hours prior to his release saying that they would have 4 QBs - haa haa.  The next lie is that Kolb is the 2nd string and Vick the 3rd...that is until McNabb gets one of his injuries (he is due and I predict around week 6 or 7) then they call for St. Michael (or maybe St Bernard?) to bring them a miracle win.  The little "Tail"gate is on at my place on Sunday (www.jjelephant.com for details) and we will raise money for All things Pawssible animal rescue.  We will sport our Hide Your Beagle Vick's an Eagle tee shirts.  When he stops blaming other people and gets himself a good health care provider I might actually take him seriously.  For now...naw, the guy is a train wreck and needs to prove otherwise, professionally and personally.

Favre is a class act, manning up to his low blow against the Texan and taking his fine.  Says something about character.  I like him, he is a good guy and makes me smile... for a woman (my age) playing with her back up QB position, likability is a big factor.  I was more cut throat taking Brees in the first round of my biggie pool (only 3 QBs worth 1st round pick) and then went for the WRs.  I took TO - first year with a new team means he takes his meds and behaves, again the social worker in me.  I lost out on a few good players but this was a satisfying draft. 

Then came facebook with a salary cap league...whoo hoo, changes everything.  Almost.  I managed to get Farve cheap and went for Flacco cheap as well.  Got Larry Fitzgerald - hot looking and great talent, my most expensive player and worth every nickle.  It is amazing how the strategy changes in a salary cap league.  Took Ray Rice again too and Chris Henry - both so cheap it is almost embarrassing.   This is like shopping at TJ Maxx or Steinmart.  Seriously! 

Now let the games begin, my 5 pools are complete and there are only 16 weeks left;-)
