Predictions for John Cena vs. CM Punk and Full WWE Night of Champions 2025 Match Card
The King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will come to a conclusion this weekend at WWE Night of Champions, but those probably won't be the most talked about matches coming out of the premium live event.
The biggest bout on the card will see John Cena and CM Punk reignite their longtime rivalry in a match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes, and Jade Cargill vs. Asuka are the finals for the respective KOTR and QOTR tournaments.
We will also see Sami Zayn and Karrion Kross meet for a singles match, Solo Sikoa will challenge Jacob Fatu for the United States Championship, and Raquel Rodriguez will battle Rhea Ripley in a Street Fight.
Let's go through each match and attempt to make some predictions.
Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez
1 of 6
Two of the most powerful women in WWE will lock horns this weekend when Ripley and Rodriguez do battle in a Street Fight.
While Rodriguez has come into her own a lot as a performer recently, she has never been booked on the same level as the former women's champion she is about to face.
This will be a hard-hitting and physical contest that will likely make Rodriguez look better than she has up to this point, but unfortunately, she feels like a stepping stone for The Eradicator to get back into the title hunt.
Prediction: Ripley defeats Rodriguez
Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross
2 of 6
Kross' rise in popularity over the past few months has finally led to what appears to be the beginning of a real push in WWE.
The 39-year-old has been staying mostly in the background recently, but his whispers in the ear of Zayn pushed The Underdog from the Underground too far, and that has led us to this weekend.
Zayn is going to get the same warm reception he has had every time he has appeared in Saudi Arabia for a show, but the crowd might be disappointed.
The only way this push for Kross is going to work is if WWE commits and gives him some big wins. Zayn can take the loss and suffer no long-term damage as a result, which makes him the perfect choice to put his opponent over.
Prediction: Kross defeats Zayn
Jacob Fatu vs. Solo Sikoa
3 of 6
A couple of months ago, you couldn't go five minutes with Fatu on screen without hearing him yell "I love you, Solo!" How times have changed.
Sikoa wanted to take credit for everything Fatu has accomplished since arriving in WWE, and The Samoan Werewolf took exception to that.
This will be two big powerhouses doing everything they can to beat each other senseless, which should make this one of the most exciting bouts on the card.
Fatu is taking off as a tweener character and WWE would be foolish to stall his momentum with a title change right now, which leaves only one reasonable outcome.
Fatu is going to prevail over the man who brought him into the company and continue building momentum as the U.S. champion.
Prediction: Fatu defeats Sikoa
John Cena vs. CM Punk
4 of 6
Punk vs. Cena is the biggest showdown set to take place at Night of Champions, but it's also the easiest to predict.
The Cena farewell tour is going to continue through the rest of 2025, and he is almost certainly going to hold onto the Undisputed WWE Championship until the end or close to it, which makes this bout a foregone conclusion.
Punk will give Cena a good fight, but when the dust settles, the 17-time champion is going to leave with the belt still around his waist.
Prediction: Cena defeats Punk
Asuka vs. Jade Cargill
5 of 6
Cargill and Asuka have made it to the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament and will fight on Saturday to see who wins the crown in what might be the hardest outcome to predict on the card.
Asuka is fresh off returning from an injury, so it's no surprise WWE is giving her a push right away by having her get to the finals.
However, Cargill is also still a priority for the company, which makes picking a clear winner trickier than in most of the other bouts.
At this point, it feels like a coin flip. Our quarter came up heads, which means Cargill is our prediction. If that's not scientific, what is?
Prediction: Cargill defeats Asuka
Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
6 of 6
Rhodes and Orton have been on good terms since The American Nightmare returned to WWE a couple of years ago, but they will have to set their friendship aside when they compete in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
Rhodes is trying to earn his way back to the title he lost to Cena at WrestleMania 41, but The Viper is just as anxious to get his hands on his longtime rival for another title shot.
This will probably be the longest match on the card and they will tell a good story, but Cena and Orton's previous encounter was billed as their final match, so it would be dumb to go back to that well right away.
Rhodes is going to win the crown and earn a guaranteed title shot in the process, setting him and Cena on the path toward a rematch at SummerSlam.
Prediction: Rhodes defeats Orton
