Southampton, Fake Brendan Rodgers Twitter Account Have Hilarious Exchange
Nothing like a bit of quality banter between a hilarious parody account and a club's official account.ย
That's exactly what happened on Sunday after news broke that Liverpool had agreed on a ยฃ49 million fee with Manchester City for wantaway striker Raheem Sterling, according to BBC Sport.ย
Over the past two summer transfer windows, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has made a habit of going after Southampton players: Last summer they signed Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovrenย and landed Nathaniel Clyne this summer.ย
Fresh with an alleged ยฃ49 million in the bank, a popular Brendan Rodgers parody account decided to return to the south coast club's well.ย
"Hey @SouthamptonFC. Follow back?

Lo and behold, Southampton responded. And decisively.ย
"@DeludedBrendan Blocked.
โ Southampton FC (@SouthamptonFC) July 12, 2015"
In case anyone thought Southampton were bluffing, they weren't.ย
"Well that escalated quickly pic.twitter.com/Lfgle7sh0p
โ Deluded Brendan (@DeludedBrendan) July 12, 2015"
Eventually, "Rodgers" resigned.ย
".@SouthamptonFC Well I was going to offer you Rickie Lambert back but if you're going to be like that...
