Josh Harris Buys $500K Jayden Daniels Card In Front of QB at Fanatics Fest on Video

Washington Commanders managing partner Josh Harris has made yet another major financial investment in Jayden Daniels one year after the quarterback was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

At Fanatics Fest in New York City on Saturday night, Harris purchased the Jayden Daniels Prizm Black Finite 1-of-1 rookie card for $500,000 with the 24-year-old in attendance.

Per Larry Holder of The Athletic, the card was originally found on Jan. 1 by Joey Carrion of WeTheHobby, a New York-based sports card retailer, who pulled it for Dr. Ojash Raval. The cost for the Commanders' 2024 Panini Prizm football box break was $36.

Carrion told Holder when he initially opened the Commanders pack and saw a player name that started with the letter J, he was cautioning himself that it was going to be rookie defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton.

"You see that like the way that I was doing it, I wanted to sweat it because there’s another Commanders rookie that starts with a ‘J,’" Carrion said. "Then I was going from the left to the right (with the top card covering the Commanders player)."

Holder noted Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams' husband, initially put a $200,000 bounty on the card even before it was found and WeTheHobby pulled it back.

Raval never actually touched the card even though he was the legal owner of it initially, but Holder wrote he did end up selling it for more than the $200,000 hold Ohanian had on it before Harris made his purchase on Saturday.

Now, Harris is in possession of the most valuable Daniels card that exists right now. He may have also helped increase Daniels' negotiating leverage when he becomes eligible for a contract extension after the 2026 season if he's willing to spend $500,000 on a card.

If Daniels continues to play at the same level he showed in his rookie year, the price of that card will keep going up and make Harris' investment look like a drop in the bucket compared to what it could go for in a few years.
