The most interesting nugget from the footage in the trailer is Goff talking about the Los Angeles Rams and being traded to the Detroit Lions.
"A lot of people in his former organization may have thought I was being cast away," Goff said, "but I saw the opportunity I had here was pretty special."
Goff has spoken many times about the March 2021 deal that sent him to Detroit, previously calling it "the greatest thing" that happened to him. But there is an indication from his comment in the series that his exit from the Rams is still a raw wound.
Other highlights from the trailer include Cousins, who is returning to the series after being the breakout star in Season 1, talking about his decision to sign with the Atlanta Falcons. There was nothing in the footage that shows when he was benched after a Week 15 loss and his reaction to it, but you would have to assume that will be a big part of the series.
Burrow doesn't have anything nearly as dramatic as Goff talking about the Rams or Cousins' situation with the Falcons, but the trailer does open with him talking about how fast his first five years in the NFL have gone by and his expectation that the next five will be over in the blink of an eye.
It's always fascinating to hear athletes in their prime talk about their on-field mortality, so Burrow's perspective could be very insightful.
Fans don't have to wait much longer to see all of the footage Netflix has assembled of these three star quarterbacks from the 2024 NFL season. The full second season will drop July 8 on the streaming service.
