College World Series 2025 Predictions and Top Prospects in Bracket Finals Game 2

Joe TanseyJun 22, 2025

The LSU Tigers are one win away from the 2025 College World Series title.

LSU received a complete game shutout from projected first-round pick Kade Anderson on Saturday. The Tigers will turn to another likely high draft pick in Anthony Eyanson for Sunday's Game 2 against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

Coastal must find a way to solve LSU's pitching staff to keep its season alive in Omaha and force Game 3 on Monday.

Top MLB Draft Prospects in Game 2

Anthony Eyanson, RHP, LSU

Anthony Eyanson is one of two LSU starters who could be selected in the first round of the 2025 MLB draft.

Eyanson is currently projected to go at No. 37 overall in the latest mock draft from ESPN.com's Kiley McDaniel.

Eyanson enters Game 2 of the best-of-three championship series with an 11-2 record, 2.92 ERA and 143 strikeouts.

The junior transfer from UC San Diego is more than capable of matching what Kade Anderson did for LSU in Game 1. Eyanson tossed 7.2 scoreless innings on regional weekend against Little Rock.

However, Eyanson allowed seven earned runs across his last two starts against West Virginia and UCLA. He only went five frames versus West Virginia and pitched in three innings versus UCLA.

Although Eyanson's NCAA tournament numbers haven't been great all around, LSU is on an eight-game winning streak in games that he's appeared in.

Caden Bodine, C, Coastal Carolina

Caden Bodine is the position player in the matchup with the highest projected draft position at the moment.

Bodine is projected to be the No. 20 overall pick by McDaniel, who said the catcher's range "starts in the middle of the round."

Bodine went 0-for-2 in Game 1 against LSU. That was the first game in Omaha in which the catcher did not record a hit.

The junior catcher produced a pair of three-hit games earlier in the NCAA tournament. A big game at the plate from him is needed if Coastal will rally and force a winner-take-all Game 3 on Monday.

Prediction

LSU 5, Coastal Carolina 2

LSU held opponents to one or zero runs in two of its four games at the College World Series.

Eyanson is another power arm the Tigers can rely on after Anderson's Game 1 gem.

All the LSU offense likely needs is five or six runs to get to the title. The Tigers scored 20 runs so far in Omaha. Saturday's one-run output was the only game in which LSU didn't score at least four runs.

Coastal's offense scored 24 runs on the way to the championship series, but LSU's pitching slowed down the Chanticleers in Game 1 and that could be the difference-maker again in Game 2.
