
Angel Reese Scores 9 Points as Hailey Van Lith, Sky Routed by Mercury
It was not an ideal day for the Chicago Sky.
The Phoenix Mercury went into Wintrust Arena Saturday and set the tone for a 107-86 dismantling victory.

Angel Reese played 21 minutes in the contest, scoring nine points and adding two rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block. She was 1-of-1 shooting and scored the majority of her points from the free-throw line, going 6-of-6 from the line.
Rookie Hailey Van Lith also played in the matchup, scoring four points with three assists and two steals in 20 minutes.
The Mercury grabbed a 31-18 first-quarter lead, and a competitive second quarter saw Phoenix enter the locker room with a 58-43 record. A 35-14 stretch in the third quarter put the game way out of reach and helped the Mercury improve to 10-4 on the season.
Sami Whitcomb led the Mercury with 17 points, Kahleah Cooper had 16, Satou Sabally had 15 while Alyssa Thomas, Kalani Brown and Kitjia Laska each had 11.
The Sky were led by Kamila Cardoso and Michaela Onyenwere, who each had 17 points. The loss dropped Chicago to 3-8 on the season.
