Daniel Jeremiah Predicts Jaxson Dart Could Start for Giants By Week 7 vs. Broncos
The New York Giants have an interesting quarterback situation on their hands heading into the 2025 season, with veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston and rookie Jaxson Dart on the roster.
NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah believes Dart will be the starter at some point this season, perhaps even as early as Week 7, as he predicted during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show.
"Everything I've read about Dart seems to be pretty positive... I think he's got a chance to play pretty darn early here," he said. "We'll see how it goes. You just kinda listen to the words of Brian Daboll and you got the sense that [Dart] was his guy. He's invested in him. He seems to really, really like him. He had Josh Allen, and once they got him in there they were able to learn through some of the mistakes and get to a really good place. It sounds a little different, the way he's talking about [Dart]. To me, that makes it sound like this isn't something that's a redshirt year for him as they hand the ball to Wilson for a full season. I think we're going to see a lot of Dart this year."
The belief has been that Dart would get something of a learning year to soak up as much as he could from players like Wilson and Winston before being handed the reins next season. It's hard to imagine Wilson being thrilled if he was brought onboard to handle the starting duties for less than two months.
Time will tell how the situation unfolds, but if Dart makes a strong first impression in training camp and during the preseason, he could be nipping at Wilson's heels on the depth chart before too long.
