Goldberg Blasts Critics Ahead of WWE Heavyweight Title Match vs. Gunther
After making his WWE return, Goldberg fired back at critics prior to his upcoming world heavyweight title match against Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event.
“Everybody’s [saying], ‘Oh, Goldberg’s limping to the ring. Goldberg’s small! Goldberg’s old!’ I am freaking old! What do you want me to do...turn the clock back? Show me another 58-year-old dude that’s willing to go out and do this," Goldberg said in an interview with Dan Sileo of JAKIB Sports (h/t Cain A. Knight of Cageside Seats). "I mean, there’s a couple. But I’m gonna hopefully surpass their performance. At the end of the day, I gotta surpass my performance in the past.”

Possible WWE Feuds For Roman Reigns After Jacob Fatu Match

Buzz: Vaquer Could Miss SummerSlam 🤕
After Gunther called out Goldberg and provoked him into jumping the barricade at Bad Blood in Oct. 2024, the WWE Hall of Famer returned on Monday's Raw to challenge The Ring General.
It'll be the 58-year-old's first WWE match since losing to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022, and he's searching for a different result.
"I ain’t freaking going out the way I went out," Goldberg said, via Knight. "Period. End of story. So at 58 years old, if I have to go in there hobbled, if I have to go in there 30 pounds lighter, I don’t give a s--t. Because I have a point to make."
"It’s a huge risk," he added. "Am I risking the legacy of Goldberg in the ring? Yeah, I mean always, every time you step in there you risk that. But it’s risk versus reward."
Goldberg and Gunther are set to face off on July 12 in Atlanta.
