
Orioles' Luis Guevara Dies At Age 19 After Jet Ski Crash
Baltimore Orioles prospect Luis Guevara died as the result of a jet ski crash Sunday.
According to MLB.com's Jake Rill, the 19-year-old collided with another watercraft in Sarasota, Florida.
"Luis was a beloved member of our organization, and we are devastated following his tragic passing,” Orioles general manager Mike Elias said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and teammates, and we ask for their continued privacy during this difficult time."

A native of Venezuela, Guevara signed with Baltimore as an international free agent in January 2023. He spent two years in the Dominican Summer League before the Orioles moved him to the Delmarva Shorebirds, their Single-A affiliate, this April.
Guevara also made two appearances for the Double-A Chesapeake Baysox and was most recently assigned to Baltimore's Florida Complex League in Sarasota. He appeared in 30 games and batted .235 with 11 RBI.
The Orioles postponed their FCL games on Monday and Tuesday following Guevara's crash.
