Lamar Jackson Says Ravens Will 'Have Vengeance on Our Mind' in 2025 After Playoff Loss

Scott PolacekJun 17, 2025

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has done just about everything but win a Super Bowl in the NFL, and his team's latest mishap is serving as a motivating factor heading into the 2025 campaign.

"We're going to bounce back," he told reporters Tuesday when discussing Baltimore's 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round. "And when we come back, I feel like we're going to have vengeance on our mind."

While the two-time MVP was excellent throughout the regular season, he committed two costly turnovers in the first half of the loss to Buffalo.

Those weren't the only mistakes for the Ravens, as Mark Andrews dropped what would have been a game-tying two-point conversion in the final two minutes of the contest.

"We wish we would have won the game," Jackson said. "I wish I didn't throw that interception. I wish I didn't fumble. I wish the mishap [with Andrews] didn't happen. But it happened. It's just a lesson learned. So next time, we're going to do something better."

The Ravens have been to the playoffs in six of Jackson's seven years in the NFL, but they are yet to advance past the AFC Championship Game. He is also 70-24 as a starter in the regular season but just 3-5 in the playoffs.

What's more, he has 10 touchdown passes to seven interceptions in those playoff games compared to 166 touchdown passes to 49 picks in the regular season. The elevated level of competition in the playoffs has played a role in those numbers, but Jackson is widely seen as one of the best quarterbacks in the league alongside Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow and others.

And the greats are largely judged by their postseason performances in the pursuit of Lombardi Trophies.

There is no doubting Jackson's status as a generational quarterback, but there will be something missing on his resume until he can get over the hump and reach the sport's biggest stage. He came close again last season and is motivated to finally do so in 2025.
