Giants' Russell Wilson Using Same Locker as One Used in Seahawks' Super Bowl 48 Win

New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson is a little familiar with the locker he's using at MetLife Stadium.

Giants teammate Jameis Winston said Wilson picked the same space he had when the Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII:

Given how much he loves visualization, it's little surprise Wilson would want a locker with so much symbolism.

And while he hasn't played a lot of games at MetLife Stadium across his career, the venue is one he recalled fondly during his introductory press conference with the team.

"Playing in MetLife, I have some amazing memories here," he said. "Some of my most fond memories of this game that I poured my heart and soul into every day happened right here in this stadium right across the street in MetLife Stadium. ... It's a collective effort, but when I pulled up to the stadium and the facility today and when I pulled up last week, it makes me feel some type of way. It makes me get excited about the possibility of what this team can do."

The odds are against Wilson's superstitions bringing any good luck.

The Giants are coming off a 3-14 season and didn't make a lot of impactful additions. They were 30th in Bleacher Report's post-draft NFL power rankings.

Wilson may not even finish out the year as the starter with Jameis Winston backing him up and first-round pick Jaxson Dart waiting in the wings.

If the Giants wind up being well out of the playoff race again, the 10-time Pro Bowler will at least have the chance to sit in his locker and reminisce about better times.
