Joe Torre Named Honorary Coach in 2025 MLB All-Star Game, AL and NL Staffs Revealed

Timothy RappJun 17, 2025

Major League Baseball announced Tuesday that Joe Torre will serve as an honorary coach for the American League at this year's All-Star Game.

He'll be joined by New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone and Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Vogt on the AL staff, while Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker and Miami Marlins manager Clayton McCullough will comprise the NL staff.

Torre, 84, is currently a special assistant to the MLB commissioner and most famously served as the manager of the Yankees from 1996-07, winning four titles and reaching the World Series six times.

He also spent time as the manager of the New York Mets (1977-81), Atlanta Braves (1982-84), St. Louis Cardinals (1990-95) and Los Angeles Dodgers (2008-10), winning 2,326 games and earning Manager of the Year honors twice.

As for the other coaches selected, Roberts and Boone were the de facto selections after leading their teams to the World Series last year. Vogt will be making his All-Star Game coaching debut after being named last season's AL Manager of the Year, while Boone will be the first AL manager from the Yankees since 2010 (Joe Girardi).

On the NL side, Roberts will serve as the manager for the fourth time in his career, while Snitker led the NL back in 2022. McCullough served on Roberts' MLB staff between the 2021-24 seasons and is making his managerial debut this season for the Marlins.

The All-Star Game will be held on July 15 at 8 p.m. ET.
