Reigns' Air Jordans Release Date
Amid retirement rumors, Goldberg—who hadn’t appeared in a WWE ring since February 2022 against Roman Reigns—made his long-awaited return in fiery fashion.
As Gunther addressed the WWE Universe, he stared straight into the camera and called out Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins, daring him to step into the ring. But instead of Rollins, Goldberg's entrance music hit, and the crowd erupted.
As the veteran made his way to the ring, he wore a "Goldberg's Last Ride" shirt.
Since his loss to Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022, where The Tribal Chief retained the WWE universal title, Goldberg has not stepped back into the ring—until now.
Gunther, meanwhile, recently reclaimed the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso, who had held it since WrestleMania 41.
The Ring General's victory came on the June 9 edition of Raw, when Gunther locked in a brutal chokehold that left Uso unconscious in the middle of the ring. The win mirrored his own loss to Uso at The Show of Shows, where he was defeated the same way.
Before that setback, Gunther had reigned as champion for 259 days after winning the title from Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2024.
