Angel Reese Says She Wants 'to Be Unstoppable' After 1st-Career Triple-Double with Sky

Andrew PetersJun 15, 2025

Angel Reese reached a career milestone on Sunday as she recorded her first triple-double in the Chicago Sky's win over the Connecticut Sun.

Now, Reese is ready to become the type of player who is capable of putting up a triple-double on any given night.

"I just want to be unstoppable," Reese told reporters after the win. "I want to get to a point where it's hard to guard because they have to guard the pass, they have to guard the shot... I think some of the best players in the world, if their shot is not falling, they find other ways to get the team together and stay involved."

Through her college career and now into her WNBA career, Reese has primarily been known for her paint presence. She led the league in rebounding last year and is on the way to doing so again this year, putting up 11.8 boards per game. She couples that rebounding ability by finding most of her shots around the rim.

But she added a new aspect to her game on Sunday. Despite averaging just 2.7 assists per game, she dished out 11 in the win over the Sun.

While it's not something fans are used to seeing from Reese, having good vision is not something new for her.

"I've kind of been a passer all my career," she said. "I came out of high school as the No. 1 wing, and I'm trying to get back to that. Trying to get back to being super versatile... I'm still figuring it out, but I have patience. Obviously, tonight it came up big."

Whether Reese will continue to be a distributor while also a force in the paint remains to be seen, but Sunday's performance was a step in the right direction.

Reese's triple-double is just the second of the WNBA season so far and the first since Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark posted 20 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds against the Sky on May 17.

While it was Reese's first triple-double, she's been a double-double machine throughout her career, becoming the fastest player to reach 30 for her career and setting a rookie record with 26 last year.
