MLB Futures Game 2015: Start Time, Live Stream, TV Schedule and More

Steve SilvermanJul 12, 2015

The Futures Game doesn't get the media coverage of the Home Run Derby or the All-Star Game itself, but it may be the most interesting and meaningful part of the All-Star break in Cincinnati as the baseball world prepares for the 86th All-Star Game.

The top prospects in baseball have been divided into a U.S. team and a World team for a matchup of future major leaguers on Sunday afternoon at the Great American Ball Park. Last year's game saw players like Kris Bryant, Noah Syndergaard and Joey Gallo compete, and the game has seen a plethora of stars since it was first played in 1999.

This year's game will feature top prospects like Kyle Schwarber from the Cubs organization, Nick Williams of the Rangers, Ozhaino Albies of the Braves and Socrates Brito of the Diamondbacks. Getting a chance to see how the top prospects in the game compete against each other and interact on the big stage will be intriguing for scouts, executives and baseball fans alike.

With the Futures Game approaching, we have the updated viewing information for the game and a closer look at four key players.

What: 2015 MLB Futures Game

Where: Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati

When: Sunday, July 12 at 3 p.m. ET

Watch: MLB Network

Live Stream: MLB.com; MLB At-Bat App on iPhone and Android

Socrates Brito

World Team

SS Ozhaino Albies, Atlanta Braves: Albies is an 18-year-old prospect who appears to have stardom in his future. Playing for the Single-A Rome Braves, Albies has been lashing the ball with a .331/.387/.426 slash line and has been fielding his position quite well. Younger players tend to attract a lot of attention, and Albies has the speed, defense and hitting ability to be merit the spotlight.

"

Ozhaino Albies has 33 multi-hit games in 79 played this season. Currently hitting .332.

OF Socrates Brito, Arizona Diamondbacks: Brito looks every bit the part of a future major league superstar at 6'1" and 200 pounds, and he has been doing a solid job at Double-A Mobile. Brito has a .269/.300/.399 slash line, and he is an outstanding defensive player with a powerful arm. If he can gain a little more patience at the plate, he'll have an excellent chance to develop.

U.S. Team

C Kyle Schwarber, Chicago Cubs: When the Cubs went on the road and played against American League opponents, that meant they had a chance to play with a designated hitter in their lineup. They used that opportunity to call Schwarber up from Iowa, and he went an impressive 8-for-22 in his brief trial before he was returned to the Triple-A level.

Schwarber is a powerful left-handed hitter who has to improve his defense before he gets called up to play on a full-time basis.

OF Nick Williams, Texas Rangers: Williams was selected in the second round of the 2012 draft, and he is coming around this season with Double-A Frisco. Williams has a .295/.354/.455 slash line along with nine home runs and 35 RBI. He has excellent tools, but tends to be streaky.

"

NICK WILLIAMS. The guy has seven hits in the double-header... and his seventh goes for his ninth home run! 5-0 Frisco in the fifth inning.
